My Prolapse and I

banner

My rectal prolapse and I have a long history together. We found each other 5 years ago when I was about 23 years old, no one knows why. Most people discover they have a pelvic organ prolapse when they reach ‘maturity’ or after having babies, I was young and without children (and not particularly flexible) so no one knows why it happened.

This site is the story of what happened to me and my prolapse; the people we met, the tests we had done, and my recovery. I am making this site to share my story, to help people realise that rectal problems are part of every day life (even for young people who are fit and healthy!), and to help prolapse sufferers rid ourselves of shame and embarrassment associated with having a problem with our bottoms.

If you have a story to tell about a pelvic organ prolapse, either something you’ve experienced yourself or something a friend has gone through, please share it by leaving a comment at the end of this page. We’re in it together and the more people who share their stories the more normal it will become.

Thank you.

  1. I’m really glad I found this site, if nothing else to know there ARE others out there! I’m right in the middle of a diagnosis and it’s super frustrating. Like you, this is affecting every single relationship I’ve got and I feel like nobody truly understands. I’m glad you found some relief and some answers, and I hope to do the same… SOON! Thank you for telling your story and letting others know that we are not alone!
